LCJ's First Ever Christmas Party
The Laoag City Jail recently conducted its first ever Christmas Party last December 25, 2010. This was initiated by no less than the City Jail Warden, J/SINSP Roque Constantino A Sison III to let the inmates feel the spirit of Christmas even if they are confined in jail and celebrate it like it has been celebrated in their homes with their loved ones. The personnel of the city jail also joined the party and the families of the inmates were also invited to join the inmates during the celebration.
The event was made possible by Mr. Handy Lao, Owner and Manager of VERTEXT Handyphones of Laoag City who provided the lights and sounds for the event and through the cooperation of SMART Communications, Inc., Laoag City. During the event, Mr. Lao together with his other brothers, friends and staff conducted parlor games among the inmates and the winners received cash prizes from Mr. Lao. In addition to the cash prizes for the parlor games, several goodies like calendars, toiletries, umbrellas, bags and other items were given away to the inmates through a raffle draw.
Major sponsors for the event included Cong. Rodolfo C. Fariñas of the 1st District of Ilocos Norte, the ever supportive City Mayor of Laoag, Hon.Michael V. Fariñas, members of the Sanguniang Panlungsod, religious groups, various GOs, NGOs and other capable private individuals.
Indeed, the event was a success considering the laughter, the joy and the fun that was seen among the inmates.

Inmates enjoying the party in the company of their fellow inmates, friends, families and loved ones. Dancing and parlor games followed immediately after dinner. The parlor games were sponsored by Mr. Handy Lao and facilitated by his friends who were also present during the event. Winners of the games received cash prizes from Mr. Lao.
