Successful Conduct of Elections 2010
The inmates of the Laoag City Jail participated in the first ever automated national elections in the country. This is very significant for them because they are not only participating in this new method of electing the new leaders of the country but because they are still entitle to their rights of suffrage as a citizen of this country. even though they are detained. The event was successfully conducted without any untoward incidents and this was achieved because of the proper coordination of the warden and the personnel and also with the help of the COMELEC staff in the voting precincts.
1. Final briefing by the warden among jail personnel
2. Preparing the first batch of inmates
3. Arrival at the voting precint at Sta. Maria Elementary School, Brgy. 1, Laoag City
4. The inmates while waiting for their turn to cast their votes
5. Verifiying the names of the inmates in the official list of voters
6. The inmates casting their votes
7. After casting their votes
8. Inmates leaving the voting precints back to the jail
