Monthly Overall Conduct of Therapeutic Community Modality Program
Inmates of the Laoag City Jail recently conducted an overall Therapeutic Community Modality Program last 17 March 2012 inside the LCJ compound.
The program was conducted by the inmates among themselves and was facilitated by the Inmates Welfare and Development Officer SJO2 Sheila Marie D Sapaden and the Unit TCMP Coordinator SJO2 Larry R Albano.
During the program, the City Jail Warden, JSINSP HERMINIGILDO B RIVERA, announced that apart from the regular TC being conducted by the inmates in their own cells every week, an overall TC will also be conducted at least once a month to intensify that implementation of the program inside the jail. The warden sees the program as an avenue where the inmates can bring out their insights and observations towards their fellow inmates, be it positive or negative. This way, the wrongdoings or misconduct of one inmate will be appeased while the good behaviors of another will be commended. Consequently, camaraderie between and among the inmates will be harnessed.
A retired BJMP official in the person of JSUPT SATURNINO F TAYLAN who is currently a volunteer at the Parole and Probation Office was invited to observe the proceedings and render his assessment.
Inmates really need this program it is an intensive and comprehensive treatment model developed for use with adults that has been modified successfully to treat adolescents with substance use disorders.Sakit.info
