BJMP Laoag City Jail

An inspection team from the BJMP National Headquarters recently visited the Laoag City Jail to conduct inspection and assessment of the jail in terms of its overall security, disaster preparedness, operational and administrative efficiency and to evaluate the implementation of various inmates’ welfare and development programs.

In spite of the minor findings of the inspection team, Laoag City Jail was able to get an “Outstanding” rating.

The City Jail Warden has already started implementing additional security measures like installing additional barbed wires to reinforce the perimeter security of the jail, acquisition of handheld radios and fire extinguisher and other security apparatus to address all the recommendations of the inspection team.
